International conflict can have a deleterious impact on the economy, security, and progress of a region. However, through effective foreign policies and political strategies, these issues can be resolved. Nonetheless, even after 54 years, the issues of Palestine and Israel cannot be resolved. This long-standing issue is not only affecting the security of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), but it is also jeopardizing the peace and economic progress of the Arab region.
This event was held by the Dean of Georgetown University, Qatar, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who discussed Qatar-U.S. relations, developments in Afghanistan, regional broader concerns, and most importantly, the Qatari stance on the recent Palestine-Israel Conflict. While discussing the regional stability and security issues, Mr. Abdulrahman stated that the core issue between Qatari and Israeli relations and the peace of the entire Arab region is the issue of Palestine. He also emphasized Qatar's efforts to maintain regional peace by adding that in the 1990s, Qatar was the first country to take the initiative and establish a relationship with Israel. Moreover, Qatar also commenced commercial trade between the two countries in the hopes of promoting peace and progress in the region. However, due to the increased violence in Gaza, these relations could not progress. Nonetheless, the country is committed to the peace of the Arab region and intends to utilize the recent Abraham Cord relationship with the U.S. and Israel to help Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, as Gaza has been the key stabilizing factor in Palestine. By implementing the theories and concepts of this theory, I was able to comprehend the initiatives of Qatar in foreign relations and how the Abraham accord will pave the way for the peace of the region.
I have dedicated a significant percentage of my academic studies and CMAP presentation to the Israeli-Palestinian issue. Thus, this webinar serves as an excellent culmination of my time at CMAP. This event has given me the opportunity to develop leadership and management abilities while also learning about the significance of overseas political issues. By utilizing this knowledge and skills in my capstone project, I would be able to come up with effective and innovative solutions for real-world issues. As an international politics student, the courses of CMAP have also broadened my knowledge of the impact of bilateral and multiliteracy decisions on the economy, politics, and welfare of society. This event has also provided me with insights into how mass communication and social media platforms can play a critical role in political warfare. In a nutshell, the contents of this course were very detailed and helped me critically analyze the issue of Israel-Palestine as well as the current global affairs and reach a conclusion that I couldn’t have reached if it weren't for this journey as a whole.
