Unleashing Potential: Exploring STI Policies, Innovation Systems, and Scientific Progress in Central America
This workshop aims to bring together scholars from Central America and the US to discuss the current state of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) policies and scientific development in the region. Central American countries face challenges in effectively leveraging expertise and achievements in STI due to limited resources and inefficient national innovation systems. The workshop will address these challenges and work towards accelerating sustainable growth and improving living standards.
The workshop aims to examine STI policies, innovation systems, and scientific development in Central America through invited presentations and discussions. It will consist of three specific workshop moments:
Captivating paper presentations showcasing diverse perspectives, featuring dynamic speakers from Central America and the US;
A session focused on a comprehensive paper by Prof. Jorge A. Huete-Pérez, exploring the regional status of STI and its potential for sustainable development, with participants offering insights and engaging in discussions; and
Discussion on contributing chapters to a book based on participants' presentations.
