This section contains all the essential details you need for a smooth, safe, and engaging experience once your program begins on campus. From check-in procedures and residential life expectations to policies regarding Travel to Campus, Safety both on and off campus, and Unstructured Time, these guidelines are crucial.
We encourage you to review this information thoroughly, including early departure notification and check-out details, to ensure you are fully prepared for your exciting summer!
All students are required to review the 2026 Hoya Summer: High School Sessions Code of Conduct.
This document outlines our expectations regarding academic integrity, residential life, and campus safety. Understanding these guidelines is essential for a successful and rewarding summer experience.
Both the student and a parent/guardian must electronically sign the Code of Conduct acknowledgment form within the Student Life Forms via CampDoc (available later in the Spring Semester)
Use the Georgetown Campus Map to plan your arrival. Signs will be posted near the front gates directing students to the Healey Family Student Center (HFSC). Our staff—wearing Georgetown Staff Shirts—will be available across campus to assist with directions.
⛔ Early check-ins: Arriving 1+ days before program date, are NOT allowed. Students who arrive before the designated check-in time will be charged a $1,500 non-refundable fee.
⛔ Late check-outs: Students who attempt to stay in the residential halls after their program ends will be charged a $1,500 non-refundable fee.
Registered Commuter Students (non-residential) are encouraged to check in to their program on Monday morning, before Academic Programming, at the Healey Family Student Center (HFSC). Academic programming begins at 9:00 AM EST.

Arriving After Scheduled Check-In:
Students arriving after their scheduled check-in must notify our office as soon as possible with their updated arrival time. Program staff will provide further instructions.
Arriving Before Scheduled Check-In:
Students that arrive earlier than their assigned check-in time will be unsupervised and responsible for their belongings until check-in begins.
Arrival Information:
Use the Georgetown Campus Map to plan your arrival. Signs will be posted near the front gates directing students to the Healey Family Student Center (HFSC). Our staff—wearing Georgetown Staff Shirts—will be available across campus to assist with directions.
If you arrive on campus a few hours early, we recommend that you explore campus, stop by the bookstore, or grab a bite to eat in the Georgetown neighborhood.
Students must depart campus at their scheduled check-out time. Only students enrolled in back-to-back courses may remain on campus between sessions—please see the Bridging Students section for details.
Students will need to check-out and remove all belongings from their residence halls between 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM on their last day of programming. All other students must leave campus promptly at the conclusion of their course.
Luggage can be stored in the designated storage room provided at the Healey Family Student Center (HFSC) with the Summer Hoya Team. After storing belongings, students will join breakfast and closing programming.
Students do NOT need to be “signed-out” if leaving during their designated check-out time. If a student needs assistance they can work with their Residential Counselor (RC) or visit the Summer Hoya Office located in the HFSC.
Parking is in effect Monday-Saturday at Hilltop locations and can be paid by credit card. All daily passes expire at 12:01 a.m. the following day except on University holidays.
Daily Parking Rate: $5/hr with a maximum rate of $25/day
Daily Parking (after 3 p.m.): $15
Daily Parking (after 7 p.m.): $10
Students with a GUID, after 4:30 p.m. (MON-FRI only): $5
Parking on Main Campus will continue to be free on Sundays and University Holidays. During all other times, visitors may park in the Southwest Garage please visit the transportation website for updated parking rates.
During designated free time, students may explore the Georgetown neighborhood within approved boundaries (outlined in red):
North: Reservoir Road
East:Wisconsin Avenue
South: M Street (up to 30th Street)
Residential or academic staff will announce when free time is allowed. Stay within these boundaries and return to campus by designated time.
Please follow these safety reminders during unstructured time:
Go with a friend, classmate, or RC; never explore alone
ALWAYS lock your room door!
Always wear your SCS lanyard (it includes important campus info)
Stay alert - avoid using headphones or talking on the phone when walking in unfamiliar areas.

Students must bring a valid government-issued photo ID to attend any off-site visits.
Strongly recommended: Keep your ID with you for the entire program
If you cannot obtain one, contact your program staff to arrange an alternative \

Temporary Leave Requests
To support academic success and community, students are expected to remain on campus for the full program. Evening or weekend leave requests are approved only for extreme/special circumstances (e.g., medical appointments, family emergencies, or religious observances).
Leave Request Process:
Submit your Temporary Leave Request at least 3 business days before the requested leave date.
Late requests will likely be denied unless there is an emergency.
A staff member will contact your parent/guardian to confirm the request before approval.
Once confirmed, both the student and parent/guardian will receive written confirmation and approval details.
Early Departures:
Submit your Early Departure notification using the process above
Formal approval may not be required, we must have the details on record for safety and accountability.
Emergencies:
If a family or personal emergency affects your attendance, contact your Academic Director/Coordinator and the Summer Hoya Office immediately. They’ll guide you through next steps.
