Mia Coutinho

B.S. -- Lafayette College, 2020, Neuroscience & Spanish

Mia is currently researching the neuroanatomical correlates of bilingualism. Mia graduated summa cum laude from Lafayette College in 2020 where she studied Neuroscience and Spanish. There, Mia investigated memory & anxiety with Dr. Meghan Caulfield and language learning with Dr. Luis Schettino. Mia's interest in the neuroscience of language grew further after teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Barcelona, Spain (2018) and studying Spanish in Granada, Spain (2019). In 2020, Mia earned a Fulbright Grant in Madrid, Spain where she again taught EFL. She joined Georgetown University’s Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience in 2021 through the Cognitive Science Concentration. Mia is now funded by the Neuroscience of Language T32 Grant.
