B.A. – Boston College, 2022, Studio Art

Iria graduated from Boston College in 2022 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Studio Art. As an undergraduate, she worked at Abbvie as an Alzheimer’s Disease Pathobiology Intern examining the implications of tau on neuronal circuit toxicity in an Alzheimer’s Disease IPSC model. Prior to that, Iria worked for two years in a lab at the Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute under Dr. Andrea Bodnar researching alginate lyase and its enzymatic involvement in marine biofuels. Iria's interests lie at the intersection between neuroscience and women's health. Her interests sparked during her years working at both the Women's Center and at Teal Health, where her role was to research holistic treatments for women suffering from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Iria joined Georgetown University's Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience in 2022 and is pursuing her research interests studying the sex-specfic anatomical variations in children with reading disability.
