Daisy Booker

B.S. – University of Denver, 2022, Psychology

Daisy Booker completed her B.S. (2022) in Psychology at the University of Denver under mentorship of Dr. Pilyoung Kim at the Family and Child Neuroscience Lab. Her research aims to understand how tutoring can affect brain structure and academic performance in children with learning disabilities. More specifically, she is currently studying the extent to which a summer-long, intensive math tutoring intervention can alter neuroanatomy (i.e., gray and white matter volume, cortical thickness) and math performance in children with learning difficulties such as dyscalculia and dyslexia. She hopes that her research will contribute to the design of a more neuroscience-based, equitable, and widely accessible educational curriculum for students with disabilities.
