Summary of learning -


Students identified the features of cause- effect and problem-solution structure used in information texts. They also wrote information texts using both the formats..

Tasks to be completed -

Write a problem-solution paragraph about the given writing prompt (see presentation ESL9 T2 W5 D2, slide no. 8), SPAG SAMLearning (Term 2 Home work), Flipgrid Task.

EFL:

Summary of learning:

To plan and write an argumentative essay on ‘Has lockdown done good to people’. Students can choose to write for or against using the features of argumentative writing.

Tasks to be completed:

Review, edit and proofread the writing as per the checklist given. Complete the unseen passage.

Maths

Summary of learning - Students learnt about inverse proportion and simplifying expressions with rational and negative indices.

Science

Biology

Summary of learning - This week in biology students reviewed Topic 7: Chemical Coordination by studying diabetes, its causes, effects and treatments. Students then proceeded to begin Topic 12: Chemical Coordination in Plants by learning about how plants respond to stimuli (textbook pages 101-102 and 168-169).

Tasks to be completed - Students should complete the end of chapter questions on pages 102-103 of their textbook. Students should complete these questions in their notebook and upload their responses to their biology Google Classroom.

Chemistry

Summary of learning - In chemistry this week students learned how to describe the chemical tests for the following gases :Hydrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Ammonia and Chlorine. Students also learned how to test for the presence and purity of water (textbook pages 190-192).

Tasks to be completed - Student should complete the gases and water tests worksheet shared with them on their chemistry Google Classroom.

Physics

Summary of learning - This week in physics students learned about the uses of radioactive isotopes in the medical field and in industry (textbook pages 243 -246).

Tasks to be completed - Students should complete questions 4-8 on page 249 of their textbook. Students should complete these questions in their notebook and upload their responses to their physics Google Classroom.

Geography

Summary of learning : Types of rural areas.

Task to be completed: Compare the challenges facing the UK’s accessibility and remote country side (Case study page 142-143 )

History

Summary of learning : Grade 9: Atomic Bombings - Hiroshima, Nagasaki


Task to be completed: To what extent was the dropping of the Atomic bombing justified?
