E-Safety Tips
The Bare Minimum You Should Do to Protect Your Family's Data – by Caroline Knorr
Beware of phishing scams.
Don't open emails, texts, online "security" alerts, text notifications, or other things from anyone you don't know, don't recognize, or weren't expecting. Often this is "phishing" -- companies sending out enticements hoping someone will click on them, thereby allowing entry to your device.
Phishers can make their messages look authentic by copying logos from companies such as Amazon, Google, or even the IRS.
But they often make mistakes such as using unusual grammar, weird punctuation, or threatening language.

E-Safety Tip for this week
Smartphone Privacy
Settings on smartphones vary, but you can tighten up privacy with these precautions:
Turn off location services. That prevents apps from tracking your location.
Don't let apps share data. Some apps want to use information stored on your phone (your contact list, for example). Say no.
Coronavirus Transmission
Dear Parents,
At present, health authorities recognize three vehicles of coronavirus transmission:
1) The small droplets from speaking or coughing, which can end up in the eyes, mouth or nose of people standing nearby.
2) Contaminated surfaces (fomites), although the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicates that this is the likely way to catch the virus.
3) Finally, there is transmission by aerosols – the inhalation of invisible infectious particles exhaled by an infected person that, once leaving the mouth, behave in a similar way to smoke. Without ventilation, aerosols remain suspended in the air and become increasingly dense as time passes.
Breathing, speaking and shouting
At the beginning of the pandemic, it was believed that the large droplets we expel when we cough or sneeze were the main vehicle of transmission. But recent studies show that shouting and singing in indoor, poorly ventilated spaces over a prolonged period of time also increases the risk of contagion. This is because speaking in a loud voice releases 50 times more virus-laden particles than when we don’t speak at all. These aerosols, if not diffused through ventilation, become increasingly concentrated, which increases the risk of infection. Scientists have shown that these particles – which we also release into the atmosphere when simply breathing and which can escape from improperly worn face masks – can infect people, depending on the length of time and the nature of the interaction.
Even though the WSR is equipped with sophisticated Fresh Air Handling Unit ( FAHU ) it is advised and recommended to keep at least one window open for ventilation. The AC temperature can be set as per your requirement
Important reminders
1) To wear proper PPE while you are with someone
2) Maintain safe distance
3) Don’t share materials
4) Avoid gatherings or meeting people – Use telephones, online meeting applications if absolutely necessary
5) Keep your area clean and tidy
6) Sanitize and wash your hands with soap for at least for 30 seconds
7) WFH if you are unwell or any of your family members is / has been showing C 19 symptoms
8) Get yourself regularly tested
9) Do some exercise
10) Eat healthy food preferable home cooked
11) Follow the law of the land and authority regulations
