Introducing Connect-Eds: A Gateway to Our School Community
We are excited to announce the Term 1 dates and themes of our Connect-Eds. This is a unique opportunity for parents to dive into our school’s philosophy and approach to teaching, learning, and well-being. Through these sessions, you’ll gain valuable insights into how we nurture your child’s growth and development, both academically and emotionally. Connect-Eds is also a fantastic way to engage with our vibrant school community, meet other parents, and strengthen the bond between home and school. We look forward to connecting with you and sharing the journey that makes our school special!

A fantastic turn out to our first multi-ligualism PD. Parents were able to connect with each other and unpack how as a diverse community we benefit from having a plethora of languages around us. Parents looked at their language profile and discovered through various activities how they develop a sense of belonging. They also learned strategies on how to support their multilingual children thrive.
A huge thank you to Ms Niamh, Ms Leigh-Anne and Ms Miriam.

At GIS we believe that play is an essential for children’s development in their early years and beyond. Play nurtures curiosity, creativity, and social skills, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning. As children engage in hands-on activities and collaborative games, they explore concepts, develop critical thinking, and build resilience.
Ms Helen our Early Years Coordinator unpacked this for our parents this week during our ConnectEd session.

On Wednesday we had new families join us to meet our primary leaders. We got to know more about them as individuals but also what their passions are and vision for the school. We then engaged in making a creative post-it using many materials to convey our own identity and then did a gallery walk to see what we all created. This session was a great opportunity to connect with one another.

On Wednesday we welcomed new families to a session on how to transition to Dubai. Parents met the Well-being Team who took them through a journey of culture check and the science behind the brain on how it acts when people are anxious.
Families took away strategies and hopefully will be able to implement these to ensure they have a smooth transition living in Dubai.
