Week Thirty Six - July 3rd, 2025
Dear Parents,
In this final few days of term, in a shortened week, I shall keep my message brief for you today.
I have also written a separate letter for you with exciting highlights and achievements from the year and have sent this to you. You can also find it here:
This week has been a lot of fun, with events such as the staff versus students basketball match, which the students dominated this year. Thank you to Mr Cameron for organising this and for the years of trying to intimidate the students – unfortunately, they were just too good!
I have continued to meet amazing students, even in this final week of term. I was informed by Ms Andrea that two students from secondary school had worked incredibly hard to help with the primary school musical, Finding Nemo Jr. Well done to Foteini F (G9) and Sanchitha B (G7) for the dedication to helping others. I was pleased to give them both a Commendation for their values.
I was also privileged to attend the secondary school Academic Awards, both sessions. As I said in my closing speech, well done to all those who won an Academic Excellence or a Learning Ambition Award. I advised students to consider what success means to them, to focus on their own incremental gains, to find their flow and to learn from failure along the way. My thanks to Ms Amanda, Ms Sandy, Mr Nic, Ms Jo, Ms Burcu, Mr Ged and Ms Alisha for the organization of the event and to all parents who came to support.
Finally, may I remind all parents that our next academic year begins on 25th August for Grade 6 and all new students, and 26th August for all other returning students.
Please don’t forget that your fees can be significantly reduced through the Ambassador Programme, which right now, for a limited time, rewards you with an unprecedented 8% of the tuition fees of every successful referral you make to our school!
Kind regards, thank you for your support throughout the year and have a wonderful holiday!
Dear GIS Parents,
As we reach the close of another remarkable school year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for your unwavering support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the year.
Your involvement has made a meaningful difference in the lives of the students and in the success of our school community.
Wishing you and your family a restful, joyful, and safe summer break. We look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting year ahead!
With sincere gratitude,
GISPA
Have you outgrown your school uniforms? If so, we’re now accepting donations of pre-loved uniforms. It’s a great way to recycle and give your uniforms a second life!
The Country Ambassador program was launched in 2021 with the intention of helping connect families with their motherland tongue and country. Small community sub groups have been created to help integrate new families from these specific countries as they enroll at GIS. We encourage you to join your country group via the QR code.
Although as a whole, we are one big family, it’s always nice to connect with those from our country. Ultimately, the goal is to have at least ONE representative for each country.
If you see that your country or ambassador is not listed and you are interested in representing your country, please reach out to us via email at gispa@gemsisak.com
Our Iranian, Egyptian and Latino parents have already started to welcome returning and new parents on a nice breakfast gathering.
We encourage all GIS communities to get together and keep us posted.
GIS house color t-shirts and swim wear will be available to purchase from threads.
