Primary School

I'm Wanita Woithe, Vice Principal Primary. I joined GIS two years ago, having previously worked in Cambodia for five years, Mozambique for seven, and South Africa before that. Across more than 18 years in early childhood and primary education, I've held a range of roles including Teacher, PYP Coordinator, Head of Early Years, Deputy Head, Head of Primary, CIS Accreditation Coordinator, and CIS Team Evaluation Facilitator. My experience also spans both the corporate and education sectors, and each role has strengthened my commitment to building learning environments that are dynamic, nurturing, and equitable.

At the heart of my work is a focus on well-being and strong relationships. I want GIS to be a place where every child grows both academically and emotionally, developing the resilience and empathy they'll carry into the future. I'm particularly inspired by the philosophy of Ubuntu, "I am because we are," and by the belief that we achieve the most when we work together.

I'm delighted to be part of the GIS community and look forward to the year ahead. I'll be working closely with our newly appointed Assistant Principal and Phase Lead for Early Years, Ms. Anneka Bowles, and our Assistant Principal and Phase Lead for Upper Primary, Ms. Helen Bruce.
