ATLs and LPs
The PYP is designed to nurture the whole child, extending learning beyond the classroom to the wider world. At the heart of this comprehensive development are the Approaches to Learning (ATLs), which are essential skills aimed at shaping students into effective learners. These skills encompass thinking, research, communication, social, and self management abilities.
The Learner Profiles (LPs) embody the IB's mission to develop active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. Within the IB framework, these profiles represent a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. They encapsulate the IB's commitment to fostering global-mindedness and ethical character in students, preparing them to make positive contributions to the world.
In the context of the exhibition, the LPs guide students in applying what they have learned throughout their PYP journey in a culminating, collaborative experience. The exhibition challenges students to embody these profiles in action, demonstrating their growth as inquirers, thinkers, and global citizens.
