Our Middle School learning program is designed to meet the developmental needs of young adolescents by offering a holistic education that encourages both independence and responsibility. We want our students to be intrinsically motivated and engaged in their learning. We support this by providing students with a rigorous core curriculum and a wide variety of elective options.
Welcome to DAA! We are so excited to have you join us in August, and we hope that your child is looking forward to becoming a Leopard.
In order to support your child's transition to our middle school, we would like to put your child in touch with one of our Middle School Student Ambassadors. Our ambassadors are students who were nominated by teachers, interviewed, and selected by the counselors to be the first welcoming face that new students meet. They are also responsible for several leadership roles in middle school and are very excited to start welcoming your child and supporting them with their transition to our school.
To start this process, we would ask you to kindly fill out the google form linked below. This will provide us with your child’s name, grade, and preferred email address. We will then pair them up with an ambassador who will, most likely, be in the same grade level. Please be sure that any email address provided for your child is one that they will be checking regularly over the summer. Our ambassadors will support their transition and communicate back and forth over the holidays. Please refrain from sharing an email linked to your child’s current school account. This email may be deactivated at the end of the school year and will hinder our ambassadors from reaching out properly.
We are excited to announce that the 2024/25 Week Without Walls trips have been confirmed!
The Week Without Walls week is an immersive educational experience that takes students outside the traditional classroom setting to explore and learn in a more hands-on and experiential way. The purpose of such a week is to provide students with a unique opportunity to engage in learning activities that may not be possible within the constraints of a traditional classroom. It aims to broaden students' perspectives, enhance their understanding of the world around them, and provide them with real-life experiences that help them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Additionally, an educational week without walls can help students build stronger relationships with their peers and teachers, and provide opportunities for personal growth and development.
To ensure you make informed decisions regarding your child's opportunities, we kindly ask you to carefully review the details on our website over the summer break. If you need any additional information about a specific trip, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant provider using the email addresses provided.
More information will be shared at the Online Travel Fair on September 4th.
