Meet the Teacher
Meet the Teacher
I received my teaching degree and Simon Fraser University in 2004. I began my teaching career in North Vancouver. After having my first child, my family moved to Kamloops, where my husband is from. I began teaching at SD73 in 2008 as a music teacher. I have been teaching at KSA since 2015, in Pod 2, as the music specialist and 4th grade teacher. I enjoy the collaboration with my colleagues and using my creativity in teaching through the arts.
Likes: homemade pizza, yoga, coffee, paddle boarding, hiking in nature, gardening, the ocean, movies, crafts (especially macrame), sunflowers, playing the piano and singing, and organizing spaces.
My Family
I have been married for 20 years to my partner, Mario. I have two children, who attend KSA. Clair is in Grade 12 and Sky is in Grade 9. We enjoy skiing in the winter and swimming in the summer. We are an artsy family that enjoys discussing and playing music, sketching, being dramatic and dancing. Laughter is what bonds us together.
My family adopted an orange tabby, Toby, in November 2022. He has been a comfort for my family. Toby has accompanied us on a couple of vacations, loves going outside (supervised of course) and catching bugs, and purrs most of the time.
