Staff
Director - Lauren McLean
Lauren is entering her final year of the IB program at Norkam secondary and is beyond ecstatic to be the director of UNHRC at KMUN this year. Her journey with Model UN began in Vancouver, when she attended her first conference and was welcomed by a room of delegates equally as excited as she was to dress up and debate diplomatic topics. After countless caffeine-fueled midnight crises and being haunted by the phrase “is that a point delegate?” Lauren developed a strong passion for Model UN. Outside of conferences, Lauren can be found at the dance studio, or in her kitchen obsessively stress baking to avoid her extensive to-do list. Lauren can’t wait to help delegates find their own love for MUN and sends her best wishes to everyone in their preparation for KMUN.
Assistant Director - Alicja Tomcyzyk
Alicja is a grade 12 student at Norkam Secondary and is in year two of the international baccalaureate program. She is excited to meet you all and is thrilled to be the assistant director of the United Nations Human Rights Council at KMUN 2026. She attended her first Model UN conference in 2024 at VMUN as the delegate of Cambodia in the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, where she struggled at first to grasp what was going on but adapted quickly and started to love everything a MUN conference entails. When not at MUN she can be found outside playing rugby, in the gym preparing for her next powerlifting competition, in the judo hut wrestling or in the library studying for IB. She is excited to see you all and help direct the lively debate and wonderful points that the delegates will be bringing up throughout the debate.
Eden Holloway - Chair
Currently in their last year of high school attending Sahali Secondary, Eden is beyond ecstatic to be serving as Assistant director for UNHRC in this years iteration of KMUN. Starting their MUN journey nervously observing the trials and tribulations of NATO. This, at first nerve racking experience plunged Eden into a whole new world of international diplomacy. Furthering them to attend as many conferences as possible, most recently seen writing up a storm (rather a storm of tears) as The Onion. When not stuck in fervent debate, Eden can be found drawing, reciting lines in preparation for theatre performances or spending too much time playing guts and blackpowder.
