PERSONAL AWARENESS and RESPONSIBILITIES Example 1

How I demonstrate this core competence is by being comfortable in a variety of situations as well as staying mentally and physically fit. For example I play sports like hockey, soccer and rugby. As well as keeping me physically fit they also keep me mentally fit because the game isn’t just gonna stop and let you stand there and make a decision you gotta make a decision quick and it better be a good one cause if not you might get scored on or hurt or one of your teammates get hurt.

This is a slideshow describing what I did for goal setting. It show that I can can set goals, keep track of them, and make sure I do what I have to do to be successful.

  • I can take the necessary actions to stay mentally and physically healthy.

4-H teaches you how to raise quality livestock and agriculture. A key part of staying healthy would be to eat healthily. When you are taught to produce healthy animals or agriculture you can learn what is healthy to eat which will benefit your mental and physical health.

  • I can feel confident in a variety of situations.

4-H has put me in a variety of different situations where I have had to talk to different people and do things that can be uncomfortable sometimes. 4-H has taught me things I can do to make these things more comfortable. Through the years I have gotten way better at talking to people and dealing with uncomfortable situations. Something big that has helped me was doing bottle drives. We would go up to people's doors and ask if they have bottles to donate. We would have to go to complete strangers and talk to them, which I feel helped me a lot.
