This track examines the critical intersection of energy policy, social justice, and technological innovation. Students will learn the basic science of energy production and use, including visiting various power plants, gaining insight into how energy systems shape and are shaped by societal structures.
Fellows will have the opportunity to connect and learn from government officials, local and national politicians across the political spectrum, leaders in the energy technology space, environmental organizations, and representatives from the automobile, building, and manufacturing sectors. Through a combination of experiential learning and focused instruction, students will connect theory with real-world applications.
The course fosters a nuanced understanding of the environmental, social, and economic consequences of energy use, equipping participants to critically evaluate policies and advocate for equitable energy solutions.
