The GSLES evaluates and monitors the School Librarian’s effectiveness both in educational practices and services that are aligned with the school’s school-wide learner outcomes."
UPDATE from Margaret Y. Asuncion: At the 5.11.2026 School Librarian Meeting, the decision was for the School Librarians to continue the critical review the "National School Librarian Standards, 2nd Edition" and the three standards sets for Learners, School Librarians, and School Libraries.

You have access to the current document and if there are any additional suggestions, please comment directly on the document. [Team has] reviewed and updated the standards to ensure that the language is aligned. I will be requesting for the GSLES to be placed on the [BOE] April agenda for approval and endorsement.
