Southern High School (SHS), located in the village of Santa Rita on the southwestern end of the island of Guam, has been a cornerstone of public education since its establishment in 1997. As one of seven public high schools within the Guam Department of Education, SHS plays a vital role in serving the island’s southern population.
The school’s expansive 45-acre campus is designed to support a comprehensive and dynamic learning environment. It features 5 academic wings and three vocational wings, providing students with diverse educational opportunities. The campus also includes a library, a fine arts auditorium, and an outdoor amphitheater, fostering both academic and artistic development. Additionally, SHS offers extensive athletic facilities, including a gymnasium, football and soccer fields, baseball and softball fields, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, and track and field amenities, promoting physical education and extracurricular engagement.
