JROTC Ball

The JROTC Military Ball is an annual formal function that is planned and attended by the cadets enrolled in JROTC. All cadets complete a yearly etiquette class where they learn the proper protocol for this formal event. The Military Ball consists of a reception hour, receiving line and dinner followed by the dance. Toasts and traditions are observed, including standing when the U.S. Flag is presented.

The purpose of this formal ball is to:

·         Prepare cadets to demonstrate proper protocol and etiquette in civilian and military settings.

·         Differentiate between etiquette and manners.

·         Prepare cadets on how to successfully attend a social event and have a great time.

·         Build and maintain comradeship and espirit de corps.

·         Celebrate achievements.

•    and have a really good time.

There are different sections to a military ball including a reception hour when guests are encouraged to mingle; the receiving line where all cadets introduce their guest(s) and themselves; dinner, which has multiple courses and when toasts and traditions are observed, such as follow a printed program and respond correctly to each toast or tradition, including standing when the American flag is presented; this is followed by the dance portion.

Male cadets dress in formal cadet uniforms and female cadets may wear a formal dress. Male guests are expected to dress in a suit and female guests a formal dress. 

This is a great event for cadets to experience their first formal dinner and dance at a price that is significantly less than the annual Prom.
