All male and female cadets will come in for every uniform inspection with hair appropriately off their collar, in a manner that stays throughout the entire day's wear of the uniform regardless of activities. Hairstyles may not interfere with proper wearing of the uniform, including headgear (there are two videos below that show two different methods for hairstyles in uniform--choose one for yourself). Test your hairstyle before you leave home; headgear that does not fit appropriately will be considered unauthorized, and cadets will receive a 0 for uniform day. Specifically, view the slide deck to see the personal appearance standards (makeup, nail polish, shaving for males, etc).
Ensure all patches are appropriately placed on the uniform. Wear the correct T-shirt, socks, belt, and boots. Ensure your trousers are correctly tucked into your boots (bloused).
You will not receive full credit for wearing the uniform unless the uniform is worn correctly in its entirety.
Uniform Care:
Take off all patches and set aside. These are not to be washed or dried. Should they become stained, they are to be handwashed using a mild soap.
Turn the uniform top and pants inside out.
Wash on a regular cycle after every wear using a detergent WITHOUT optical brighteners.
You may hang these dry or put them in the dryer.
Wash the headgear (hat) along with the uniform. The hat MUST hang/lay flat to dry. The hat cannot go into the dryer.
Wash the t-shirt and socks as you would any other item of clothing.
Wipe clean the belt and shoes as needed.
We provide the standard Waccamaw nametape for each Cadet. Should you elect to order your Cadet’s name instead, please use this link and only this link to do so: https://a.co/d/04dif7Of Not all listings will have the correct pattern, and Cadets will not be allowed to wear a nametape that is unauthorized.
Please contact us beforehand if you want to purchase boots or any other uniform item instead of using the issued items.
