December 2022-App Smashing
App smashing refers to use 2 (or more) apps together to create a finished product. So many of our teachers are already app smashing, and they don't even realize it! By combining apps that you are already using in the classroom with your LMS (Seesaw, or Google Classroom), believe it or not, you are app smashing! Be sure to apply for the digital badge if this is something that you do with your students in the classroom. If you'd like to give it a try, here are some ideas to help get you started:
Have your students create a Pic Collage of their Christmas "wish list." Then, upload the collage into ChatterPix and let them record their voices reading off a few items that they included on their list. Triple smash by uploading the finished product to Seesaw or Google Classroom.
Let your students write a letter to Santa, or someone in their family. Have them upload the letter to ChatterPix, Keynote, or Google Slides. Let them voiceover the letter by reading aloud in Chatterpix, 'inserting audio' in Keynote, or recording their voice with a fun jingle in GarageBand and uploading the audio to Keynote or Google Slides.
Have your students solve multi-step problems in the one of the Math Learning Center apps and take a screenshot of each step. Let them load the pictures into Clips or Shadow Puppet and personalize their video to show off their learning.
