Welcome to the 2020 – 2021 school year! It is hard to believe that summer has passed so quickly, and it is time for your child to go back to school now, as a 5th grader. We look forward to meeting each and every one of you in person once that time comes. You and your student will receive a zoom meeting link where we will go over information regarding our classroom policies, procedures, and a variety of ideas to help you provide the best learning environment for your child.
The meeting will start at 8:30AM on Monday, August 10, 2020. Please email your teacher to receive your zoom meeting link.
To make the Distance Learning experience more enjoyable please help your 5th grader to join our google classroom.

Find the + sign on the upper left corner, click on “Join a class”.
Type in the class code, which will be given in the first zoom meeting.

Most of you have already purchased helpful school supplies for your child. The following are items that would be particularly helpful for our 5th graders:
Computer, tablet, or laptop (a phone is not sufficient)
Internet access
A working webcam (most laptops have a built-in camera)
Paper/notebook
Pencils & pens
Computer mouse
Computer-compatible headphones with a microphone
Quiet workspace
It will be a fun, exciting, and challenging year. Your support and guidance at home is critical for your child’s success. Please establish a time and an area at home for your child where he/she can study. We will work to teach students how to be respectful, responsible, have good study skills, and increase their motivation to learn. With your support, we can achieve great results in your child’s education.

Quiet Work Space -- It is crucial that students have a designated place to work in the house that is quiet and free from distractions (including toys, games, or even other siblings!). Try to choose a location that is close to your internet router, so they may have a good internet signal for virtual meetings.
