Floriculture is either the second or third course in the plant science pathway. This class focuses on producing plants for sale using a greenhouse. We discuss designing and utilizing a greenhouse as well as how to set it up for various production methods. We will select and grow plants for a sale in May to benefit the agriculture program and also FFA. This course also has a strong floral design element as well. Students are taught basic arrangement types and will use flowers grown in the greenhouse for their arrangements. The greenhouse operator's exam certification is available at the end. This course is dual enrollment with RCC.
