Zones of Regulation

At Martin, students are taught about the Zones of Regulation. The Zones of Regulation are a, "systematic, cognitive behavioral approach used to teach self-regulation by categorizing all the different ways we feel and states of alertness we experience into four concrete colored zones"

(Zones of Regulation, n.d.).

Simply put, the Zones of Regulation allow children to label their feelings and emotions into four different colored zones. They are also taught how their body might feel and look in these different Zones. It is normal to be in any of these Zones, but our goal is always getting back to the Green Zone, since that's when our body and mind feels most comfortable! Click each Zone below to explore!
