Another thing that many students find beneficial for self-regulation is the use of fidgets or sensory tools.
Please remember that fidgets or sensory tools should only be used with students who are seeking sensory input! These are kids who, when in the Red, Blue, or Yellow Zone, may exhibit:
Chewing/biting on shirt sleeves or non-food
Standing too close/not understanding personal space
Unusual pain tolerance
Jumping, hopping, bumping, crashing into things and people
Persistent need for movement
Preferring "rough" play
Seeking out touch
Making loud and/or unexpected noises
