What Is the WOW Card?

Through a partnership between Gaston Day School, and the Gaston County Public Library, students have access to the WOW Card, their own library WithOutWalls! This virtual card gives students access to many helpful and exciting online resources via the Gaston County Public Library.

Every student gets a unique WOW Card ID from the Gaston County Library. Each card begins with WOWGDS, then has a few zeros, and ends with a number. The entire ID should have 14 characters in total.

For example: WOWGDS00000513

You may also check out up to 10 physical items from the Gaston County Public Library. These items include books audiobooks and MP3 playaways.

The Spartan Writing Club is open to all Middle School students. It is a creative space where students can explore the art of writing.  

World Trade Press

ABC Food America contains recipes in all course categories (appetizers, soups, salads, breads, main courses, side dishes, desserts, snacks, and beverages) for six US regions, all 50 states, and 33 ethnic cuisines. It also covers food culture for the above regions, states, and ethnic cuisines with articles such as Classic Dishes, State Foods, Top Agricultural Products, Special Occasion Foods, Ethnic and Geographic Influences, Special Ingredients, and Food Trivia.

ABC World Food is the only food database that contains traditional recipes for 174 countries of the world in all course categories: appetizers, soups, salads, breads, main courses, side dishes, desserts, snacks, and beverages. It is also the only database that covers food culture in six categories: National Cuisine, Regional Cuisine, Daily Meals, Dining Etiquette, Special Occasion Foods, and Food Trivia.

ABC World Culture contains Information about world history, cultures, languages, foods, religions, etc. 174 Country Culture Guides cover more than 60 topics.

World Book Online

World Book Students is a mainstay to meet the research needs of students in primary/elementary and middle school with thousands of articles and multimedia.

World Book ebooks include highly illustrated, engaging titles that span all curriculum areas and reading levels. Read online or download titles to the ebooks app.

Timelines offer hundreds of pre-generate timelines across eight broad topics, which cover various historical periods or span the life of historical public figures. Users can create their own timelines, adding events, descriptions, and media.

Invites learners to explore U.S. and world history through a rich collection of full-text history magazines, journals, e-books, primary source documents, and videos. The database also supports the study of human geography, sociology, and economics, making it a versatile tool for multidisciplinary research.
