Committee Information

2023-2024

Annual Auction

This is the primary fundraiser for Concord, providing half of the overall operating expenses for all of our activities. This auction is conducted using an online platform where everyone bids anonymously. Homeroom Parents create themed classroom baskets, and our auction committee puts together baskets and experiences with donations solicited from the community. The committee works hard to plan the event, organize the auction items, and help the event run smoothly. (March 11-18, 2024)

Book Fair

Our big annual Book Fair is a three to four-day event held in November, with one of those days including an evening shopping experience with families. We also host a special 1-day BOGO Book Fair event in May, usually in conjunction with our Spring Social, Art Show, and Heritage Night. The committee works with Scholastic Books and transforms the gym into a big Book Store with selections for every member of the family. There are opportunities to purchase books for personal use and for donation to the library or to a student’s teacher(s). (November 2023 and May 2024)

Spirit Wear

We wear our school colors proudly - Garnet and White! Every Friday is school spirit day and children are encouraged to wear their school colors. The Spirit wear committee selects, orders, promotes, designs, and organizes volunteers to sell Garnet Valley Jaguar school spirit wear throughout the school year. The selection and ordering begins in the summer.  (year long)

Staff Appreciation Week

As we near the end of each school year, it is so important to let our teachers and staff know how much we appreciate all that they do. We dedicate an entire week to do special things throughout each day such as providing breakfast or lunch, special snacks, giving flowers, or conducting daily draw prizes. Even though the event is in May, the committee begins planning in March and is very involved each day throughout the week. (May 2024)

Yearbook (Photographer)

Yearbooks are something we treasure more and more throughout the years. We are so lucky to have a team of committed volunteers to produce a yearbook for our elementary school! Members of this committee are present at all Concord events throughout the school year gathering pictures. This committee is a great fit for those who have an interest in photography! (year long)

Onward to Third
