As a literacy coach at EHS, Ms. McKerracher is responsible for administering whole-school and individualized reading assessments to determine which students are in need of help in any of the following areas of literacy:
decoding multisyllabic words
correlating sounds with English language letter combinations
vocabulary
reading fluency
reading comprehension
summarizing information
spelling
expository writing
EHS utilizes the Basic Reading Inventory, an informal assessment tool, to gather baseline data and conduct progress monitoring throughout the school year.
