We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Grade 5 at UWCSEA Dover. We have a wonderful team who collaborate throughout the year so that your child will experience an education based on your child's individual needs to help them grow. This is a great time to be joining UWCSEA, with the enthusiasm for being at school never higher than since the COVID-19 restrictions eased!
Supporting your child's social and emotional needs are key to a successful year and the Grade 5 team works hard to ensure each child has a safe, secure, fun and motivating learning environment. We ask that parents help to contribute to this by asking about your child's day and checking in with them about their homework.
Some of the exciting experiences that await your child this year are the field trips, days of sport on the field and in the swimming pool, an Arts Festival, UN Day and the International Food Festival and, of course, the culminating event – the Grade 5 Expo! We will have an exciting Outdoor Education Programme to replace our normal Overseas Expedition, which has been affected by the COVID-19 situation. Local field trips are similarly in doubt and we will keep parents informed as the situation develops.
With so much to fit into just one year it is important to keep the lines of communications open. As it unfolds, we will provide you with detailed information. There is also a wealth of detail on our Grade 5 learning programme provided on the website portal, and regular updates are posted on the Grade 5 blog.
To get started at UWCSEA, please visit the 'Resources for all Families' page on this website and purchase uniforms from the College Shop.
The first day of school for all students will be on Tuesday, 18 August.

Important note: Only one parent per child is allowed on campus for orientation
We know this is not ideal but it means we can have you on the campus if we do it this way. We are permitted 50 people at each venue, including the presenter and so by limiting numbers to one parent per child, we can have you physically on the campus so that you can see your child’s room and so that the children get to spend 45 minutes with their new teacher before the rest of the class join on Tuesday, August 18. If you have two children joining the school, both parents can come (it is one parent per child, not one parent per family). It is crucially important to the compliance of the event that we stick to these numbers please.
