In late July, you will receive an email with your personalised login details to our student management system, and be asked input your child's medical details on our online forms. Details we require will include immunisation records, information on pre-existing conditions, and medical management plans.
Having complete medical details for each student is of vital importance for the provision at the Boarding House, and parents are asked to fully disclose all medical information, including any mental or physical health issues. The medical information submitted needs to be complete and accurate; please err on the side of giving us too much, rather than too little information! The nurses from the College Clinic review each record and will contact you if they need clarification. Please complete the medical details as soon as possible after you receive your login details.
It is important to note that Diphtheria and Measles vaccinations are compulsory by Singapore Law and this is a prerequisite for a valid student pass in the country.
Below are also the recommended routine vaccinations for living and traveling in South East Asia:
Diphtheria/Pertussis/Tetanus (DPT) vaccine Booster
Polio Booster
Mump/Measle/Rubella (MMR)
Chicken Pox (Varicella)
Hepatitis A & B
Typhoid
Influenza
As vaccinations in Singapore can be costly compared to other countries, you may consider having relevant vaccines in your home country.
You are advised to consult with your family doctor and further information can be found on the World Health Organisation vaccination site.
For safety reasons, boarders are not permitted to keep any medicine in their room, inclusive of supplements. All medicine is stored in the College Clinic by the nursing team and medicine/supplement will be administered to the students daily, if required.
Boarders are not encouraged to bring medicine from home. They are to visit the College doctor if unwell. College Clinic nursing staff are unable to administer any medicine that is brought from home if:
the original manufacturer packaging is not supplied
there is no expiry date clearly indicated on the packaging
there is no label to specify patient and medication details
the label and/or medicine packaging is not written in English
If you do bring prescriptions from your home country, please ensure they are accompanied by a signed and stamped doctor’s note written in English. If the note or packaging is in a language other than English, we will require an official translation of those documents.
Permission to give medication
If your child needs to take medication, either as an ongoing treatment or as a short course, please use the Permission to give medication form and hand the medication and form to the staff in the appropriate clinic so that they can dispense the medication.
