Bend-La Pine Schools (BLS) has several different wireless networks and they all serve different purposes.
Your BLS-owned devices should always be on the BLS Managed network. Please never try to join a different wireless network while at work with your BLS-owned devices.
The following are the many networks that you may see at our sites:
Used only for BLS-owned devices (i.e. computers, iPads, etc.). at work. If BLS Managed doesn't automatically connect, please do not try joining other BLS wireless networks. This will only make the problem worse!
This network is used for personal devices (i.e. personal smartphones). Using BYOD on a personal device can be useful in receiving MFA notifications in buildings with poor cellular coverage. To join BLS BYOD on a personal device, visit https://byod.bend.k12.or.us/.
This network is used to connect external visitors to a guest wireless network. These guests would not have a Bend-La Pine Schools account to be able to login (i.e. external vendors, sport event guests, etc.) No one that has a BLS account, including staff and students, should ever connect to the Visitor network. This network has student-level web filtering, meaning many categories of websites are disabled.
The password to this network changes daily and can be viewed by staff here: https://admintools.bend.k12.or.us/guestaccount/.
This network is used only for setting up new BLS-owned devices. There is very limited access to a small number of specific sites on this network.
This network is used only for specific wireless devices that have been approved by Information Technology to be on a wireless network.
