-For overseas Chinese students staying in Taiwan, NHI coverage should be arranged through their employer.
-Those without a job should bring their ARC (or ID card) to the local township/city/district office of their registered residence or to a regional NHI service center to enroll in the insurance.
*Additionally, those leaving Taiwan for over six months must provide their flight itinerary to apply for NHI suspension. This exempts them from paying the monthly premium during their time abroad and avoids retroactive charges upon returning.
