Other Matters:About Visa
After receiving your graduation certificate, you will no longer be a student of NTHU, and therefore, you will not have a reason to stay. You need to leave Taiwan within 14 days.
So, if you need more time to process a visa change, such as a work visa or job-seeking visa, please do not complete the Clearance procedures. The school Clearance procedures must be completed by the start of the new semester (September 2026) at the latest.
Other Matters:About Dorm
Dormitory residents who apply for suspension, withdrawal, or graduation during the semester must complete the dormitory withdrawal within 7 days after completing the school Clearance procedures.
Other Matters:National Health Insurance (NHI)
Students who graduate, withdraw, or take a leave of absence will be removed from the National Health Insurance (NHI) system by the university at the end of that month. After that, they must pay the NHI premium themselves (currently NT$826 per month, subject to official updates).
For overseas Chinese students staying in Taiwan, NHI coverage should be arranged through their employer.
Those without a job should bring their ARC (or ID card) to the local township/city/district office of their registered residence or to a regional NHI service center to enroll in the insurance.
Additionally, those leaving Taiwan for over six months must provide their flight itinerary to apply for NHI suspension. This exempts them from paying the monthly premium during their time abroad and avoids retroactive charges upon returning.
