Research and Mentoring  

Professor Chin-Chuan Chen studies natural products, healthy aging, DNA repair, and cancer biology. His research begins with functional screening and molecular mechanisms and integrates AI-assisted multi-omics, cross-tissue pattern recognition, candidate-target prioritization, and in vivo validation, with an emphasis on translational development. His work has been published in international journals including Cell, Molecular Cell, and Nature Communications, and has led to granted patents in Taiwan and the United States. 

Research and Student Development

His research has been recognized through the NSTC Excellent Young Scholar Research Program and the Chang Gung University Research Award. The lab welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds and values potential, willingness to learn, responsibility, and sustained commitment rather than academic credentials alone. Research integrity and teamwork are fundamental expectations.

Through hands-on research, students develop skills in experimental design, scientific reasoning, data interpretation, and AI-assisted analysis. Students who make substantive contributions have become first authors or co-authors of papers in journals including Nature Communications, as well as inventors on patents. One alumnus received full funding to pursue doctoral training at The University of Texas at Austin.
