Bualnaluib Primary teaching staff are currently in Year 2 of a 2 year Arts project working alongside outreach education staff from Eden Court, entitled 'Everyone's An Artist'. It is funded by the Paul Hamlyn foundation, and we were chosen along with a number of other schools in Highland and our cluster partners in Poolewe, due to our rurailty.
'Our vision is of a just society in which everyone can realise their potential and enjoy a fulfilling and creative life. This is at the heart of our purpose as a foundation. To achieve this, we need to tackle inequalities head-on and use all of our resources to drive positive change', Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
The Hamlyn foundation has at his heart diversity, equity and inclusion; our rurality can mean that we are not able to be as included as many schools in Arts opportunities and activities.
The aim of the project is to give teachers tools and techniques in drama and film making to deliver parts of the curriculum and make learning come to life in alternative ways that take into account different learning styles. Pupils and staff have enjoyed experiences and workshops delivered by Eden Court practitioners. Our teaching staff are now at a stage where they are beginning to weave the elements of drama and film explored into their practice.
Everybody's looking forward to experiencing new ways to learn through
Drama and Film!
