IMPORTANT! PCR TESTING CLARIFICATION

All students KG to Grade 12 returning to face-to-face learning, including Students of Determination, must show a negative COVID-19 test result valid for 96-hours prior to returning to school FOR THE FIRST TIME.

After the first entry to school and January 24, 2022 onwards:

All students aged below 16 (vaccinated and unvaccinated): TESTING EVERY 28 DAYS
Vaccinated students aged 16 and above: TESTING EVERY 14 DAYS

NOTE: Unvaccinated students aged 16 and above are required to continue with Distance Learning in line with previous directive of Abu Dhabi Authorities.

All students who traveled outside the UAE in the past 12 days must:

Complete Travel Declaration Form (download form here) and submit to nurse_gaa@gemsedu.com
Submit Day 1 and 6 PCR results to nurse_gaa@gemsedu.com
Physical return allowed with Day 1 negative PCR result.

LUNCH

KG-Grade 5 students will be required to bring a packed lunch (including utensils) from home. There will be no access to our cafeteria for elementary students and lunches must be eaten without the use of refrigeration or microwave.

No water fountains will be operating at school, following health and safety requirements by ADEK: We ask students to arrive at school with a sufficient supply of water for the day. There will be water dispensers around school to purchase, if needed.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

All school supplies, books, pencils and pens in the elementary are provided by the school. Students may be required to bring their own headphones. Students may bring their own pencil case, tablet, if they choose to. Students will be provided with a school e-mail, online storage, as well as a host of other online subscriptions that are in place to support their learning.

UNIFORM SHORTAGE

We understand that there is a shortage of uniform pieces and sizes currently at Threads Store. If you were unable to purchase uniform on time, here are the possible options:

Contact GAA Parent Association, Ms. Maha Younes, at maha.j.younes@gmail.com, to enquire about availability of used uniform at your size
If still not available, you may wear a plain button-down shirt and trousers/skirts in colors similar to GAA uniform (navy trousers/skirt and a light blue shirt).

Please respect UAE and GAA dress code:

No tight clothes.
No spaghetti strap shirt
No exposed mid-riff.
Skirts must be below the knees.
No hoodies
No offensive logos or expressions on clothing.

The Secondary Administration may require a student to return home for the purpose of changing clothing. Our policy is: Wear clothing that is respectful to yourself and others.

Please note that the above non-uniform arrangement is temporary until proper uniform is purchased. We are in communication with Threads management and hope the stock will arrive soon.
