Personal Projects 2021

The Personal Project is the capstone of the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The project engages students in a self-directed inquiry and demonstrates their ability to learn independently, generate new insights, and deeper understandings through an in-depth investigation into an area of their own choosing. The skills, attitudes, and knowledge required to complete this project over an extended period of time prepare TMS students to flourish as life-long learners.

Under normal circumstances, TMS would host an exhibition to share and celebrate with our community the incredible work that our Grade 10 students have put into their Personal Projects. This year, to limit the spread of COVID-19, we have opted to post our Exhibition online instead.

Since September, students have been investigating, planning, taking-action, producing, creating and reflecting as they have explored their chosen topics through the lens of a Global Context. By learning and understanding concepts in context, students gain a more concrete perspective and relevance.

In completing their project, students have practised their Approaches to Learning skills of self-management, research, communication, collaboration, critical and creative thinking that they have learned throughout the Middle Years Programme.

As a community, we would like to recognize and acknowledge the valuable learning the Grade 10s have demonstrated during the process of completing the Project.
