Bruin Financial Aid (BFA) is UCLA's financial aid portal for students to view information about their financial support and any documents that need to be completed to receive the support. Accessing the portal is done via MyUCLA (guide here).
Important note: In order for stipends and funding paying quarterly tuition and fees to post to a students bill and disburse, a student MUST be enrolled in at least 4 units in advance of the start of the quarter. BFA will not trigger the disbursal process until the unit minimum is met.

As a graduate student you may see awards from a variety of sources reflected in your BFA dashboard. Some will appear at the time the financial aid package is offered, while others will appear only after acceptance. Should you have questions about the awards in your package, please consult with the following resources.
Funding based on demonstrated financial need and applied for through FAFSA includes loans and work-study awards. If you have questions about this award type, visit Financial Aid and Scholarships.
For merit-based funding, awarded based on demonstrated exceptional academic performance, provided by your academic department or program, please contact the Student Affairs Officer or Graduate Advisor in your department directly.
For merit-based funding awarded by the DGE, for example Graduate Dean’s Scholar Award or a Dissertation Year Award, send inquiry to askgrad@grad.ucla.edu or review the award information provided on our financial support page.
If you need assistance navigating the BFA portal, completing forms, or accessing resource guides, please visit the Bruin Financial Aid Student Portal Help Page.
