Note from the director:
Dancing on Checker’s Grave is a play by Eric Lane about two high school girls who meet at a pet cemetery to work on a school project. They are wildly different, but find comfort with each other. The two girls embark on a whimsical car ride around town throwing munchkins and telling local stories. A queer coming-of-age story.
In the script, there is a moment of intimacy between DINA and LISA. This is not required for this specific production but may be executed with the help of an intimacy director if both actors are completely comfortable. This will be asked on the audition form and will not impact casting whatsoever.
High-school-aged, female presenting person. A bit introverted, but very friendly and strong.
High-school-aged, female presenting person. A bit of a mean girl, but means well. Very witty and cares about her appearance.
