Metrocare is Dallas County's version of MHMR. They have abundant resources and want to partner with RISD to provide services to our students. Please see below for more information on Metrocare.

1. Routine referral – call clinic/program most appropriate as described on flyer


2. Urgent referral – call/email to Transition Liaison for desired clinic (see attachment for contact info for Liaisons. Please do NOT provide this contact info to families directly to use, this is for your staff to use when making the referral/coordinating appointments). RISD staff calls/emails, provides details to liaison and coordination of an appointment will occur. Liaison can work directly with family to set up appts or can work through the RISD staff if family more comfortable that way.

Routine Referral – individual or family indicate interest in mental health services but no concern or crisis that requires immediate response


Urgent Referral – individual demonstrating some concerning behaviors, symptoms, etc and family agreeable to timely intervention.


Emergent Referral – RISD needing to staff/collaborate on concerning cases that may involve working an individual in to services same day
