If you like being the center of attention and can get up in front of people without getting nervous, The Theater Collective is the best place to be.
During freshman year, you learn things like dance moves, hand-to-hand stage combat, and how to connect your voice to the movement. At the end of the year, the Freshmen present a performance Showcase of what they've learned.
Sophomores dive right into the heart of acting doing improv, character-building skills, and learning how to audition and interpret scripts. There is a performance exclusive to sophomores at the end of each year.
Juniors explore the art of directing. Each student gets the opportunity to choose and direct their own one-act play. In this play, students display all of the skills they have acquired and put them into one show.
Senior year prepares you for college. It shows you the business of Theatre and gives the class an opportunity to write, direct, and perform their own full-length show.
The Theater Magnet welcomes guest speakers to present to our students. Previous guest speakers have included Marcia Gay Harden, Glenn Morshower, and Jenna Fischer.
Many different shows are performed throughout the year, including classical, contemporary, and original works.
If you think you've got what it takes to be in front of an audience, join the RHS Theatre Collective.
