Q: How do I become CCMR met?
A: There are several different pathways to achieve CCM Readiness.
Q: Am I required to earn a CCMR indicator in order to graduate?
A: Being CCMR met is NOT a graduation requirement. However, RISD does expect all students to meet or exceed their CCMR measurements to put them on the best path toward post-secondary success.
Q: Do Juniors and Seniors have to be CCMR met in order to have an off period?
A: YES! Students must complete at least one approved CCMR pathway to become eligible for late arrival OR early release.
Students must complete a Early Release/Late Arrival Application
Eligible Seniors may have up to 2 off periods
Eligible Juniors may have up to 1 off period
9th and 10th graders are NOT eligible for off periods. Even if they are CCMR met.
Q: What is the TSIA2 test?
A: The TSI Assessment2 (TSIA2) is part of the Texas Success Initiative enacted by the Texas State Legislature and is designed to determine a student’s readiness for college-level coursework in the general areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. The TSIA2 is administered through the College Board’s Accuplacer digital platform. For nearly 10 years, the TSIA2 (or one of its exemptions) has been required for students entering any Texas college or university (including Community College). RISD offers the TSIA2 test to students in the Spring of their sophomore year.

Q: What is Texas College Bridge (TCB)?
A: With TCB, high school juniors and seniors can take online college preparatory courses, strengthening their English and math skills prior to taking the TSIA2, SAT, ACT or enrolling in college and setting them on a path to postsecondary success. Texas College Bridge courses are personalized, self-paced and teacher facilitated—allowing students to focus on skills they need and skip those they have already mastered, with teacher support along the way.
