Berkner High School College & Career Center

The Berkner High School College & Career Center (CCC) provides students with resources and support as they explore their college, career, and post-secondary options. The CCC is a place where students can learn about two-year colleges, four-year universities, SAT/ACT testing and preparation, military opportunities, career readiness, financial aid, scholarships, and more.

Planning for life after high school is a partnership between students, families, counselors, and the College & Career Advisor. Communication is key, and we encourage parents and guardians to provide support while empowering students to take ownership of their college and career planning process.

While we are here to support all students, individual appointments are primarily available to seniors, followed by juniors.

• Seniors: Appointments begin in September and continue through the spring semester.

• Juniors: Appointments begin in early April.

Students who have the greatest success in the college and career planning process are those who stay on top of deadlines, ask questions, seek help when needed, and most importantly, do not wait until the last minute to get started!

Finding the college, career, or post-secondary path that is the best fit for you starts with you. Take time to explore careers that interest you, research your options, and understand the steps required to reach your goals.

Most importantly, stay on top of your deadlines! We will send reminders and provide support along the way, but ultimately, you are responsible for taking action and holding yourself accountable.

3. Be Yourself!

The college and career planning process is about you. Your interests, goals, experiences, and strengths are what matter most. Our goal is to help you find the best fit for your future, not someone else’s.

This process can be exciting, overwhelming, and even stressful at times, but remember to enjoy the journey, stay true to yourself, and trust the process. It will all be worth it in the end!
