Through the Dallas County Promise, participating colleges provide "last-dollar scholarships" to students who graduate from a Promise high school with a high school diploma or associate degree. The Promise scholarship covers the gap between need-based financial aid and the cost of tuition.
Students must be enrolled at a participating high school by November 1 and graduate before June 30 of their senior year. If you graduate over the summer, you may not be eligible for Dallas County Promise.
Complete the Promise Path by February 1st
If you did not do this you cannot be considered a Dallas Promise Scholar. You can still apply, but you will not get the financial assistance to attend as a scholar.
Apply to one or more of the partnering institutions before the colleges' posted Promise deadline date (hard deadline date)
We encourage all students to apply to two Promise Options. Most of our students here at BHS, apply to Dallas College and one of the 4-year partnering colleges.
Applications are all on ApplyTexas. Please make sure you apply for the FALL OF 2026.
Complete your Financial Aid before February 15th or by the posted college date for Dallas County Promise.
Students need to fill out either the FAFSA or the TASFA applications using their parents' 2024 Tax Return Documents. Students must use their parents' information for their financial aid.
This process opens in late December for the class of 2026 as well and we strongly encourage all students to file their financial aid by January 15th of their senior year.
Must be submitted by the posted deadline date to qualify for this tuition-based program.
