Students will have the incredible opportunity to join extracurricular activities like clubs and intramurals. These are activities that occur outside of instructional time. Extracurricular activities are not possible without volunteers and passionate leaders who have a love for activity!
Intramurals
Ms. Syvret volunteers her time to run intramurals for grades 3 to 6. Intramurals are recreational lead up sports like badminton, kabadi, and volleyball for students to participate. Intramurals occur during lunch recess. Intramurals emphasize participation and teamwork in a low-competition environment.
What are the 5 Fair Play Ideals? Students are taught and expected to engage in the following fair play ideals to keep intramurals fun and engaging for everyone.
Maintain self control at all times
Respect the rules & spirit of the game
Respect your opponent
Respect the officiant / referee and accept their decisions
Include everyone
Clubs
Throughout the school year, Ms. Syvret will volunteer her time to run clubs during lunch recess like Jump Rope, Dance, Stuntnastics, Snow Shoe Club, and more!
Grade 6 Athletic Leadership
Each year Grade 6 students have an opportunity to join athletic leadership. Our athletic leader team helps make intramurals exciting, fair, and fun! From setting up and reffing games to coaching younger students and cheering everyone on. These students lead with teamwork, kindness, and energy. Being a leader means being a role model.
We meet once a month over lunch in the gym to plan, connect, and build leadership skills together.
Before School Developmental Volleyball
Students in grade 5 & 6 can join our volleyball development program before school in March and April. This program typically runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 4-6 weeks from 7:45-8:45am.
We host a friendship tournament with Ecole St. Eustache at the end of April.
This developmental program allows students to deepen their understanding and advance their skills. More information will come!
Did you know Ms. Syvret still plays volleyball for fun?
