About Me

I am lucky to have a wonderful family.  My husband Mark works as a physician assistant in the emergency department in Winterset.  He works one 36-hour shift a week from Thursday morning until Friday night.   He races harness horses every weekend in the summer, so that keeps us really busy.  He also does jiu-jitsu classes and plans to start competing this fall.  My oldest son, Tristan, is 14 and in 8th grade. He is a great student who keeps busy playing soccer and running.  He loves playing video games, growing his hair out, and cheering for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.  I am not looking forward to teaching him how to drive now that he has his permit.  My daughter Alana is 11 and is in 6th grade.  She loves to read, dance, and swing on the swing set.   Alana is very self-assured and always voices her opinion.   My youngest boy, Quentin, is 10 and in fourth grade.   Quentin participates in soccer and swimming.  His favorite pastimes are playing video games and cooking.  He also says the funniest things. As for me, I enjoy dancing, reading, singing, fishing, and camping in my free time.  Or, at least I used to when I had free time!  I love my crazy life of juggling these responsibilities.  These challenges remind me of teachers' challenges and responsibilities in juggling their professional and private lives.   I love to support teachers in any way I can.
