This is Mr. DuFour - I will be your teacher for Social Science. I have been teaching for eleven years, and was awarded the Moreno Valley Unified School District Teacher of the Year for 2019. I specialize in using projects, debate and argumentative evidence-based writing. Check daily for updates. CLASSROOM AGREEMENT

WHICH ONE WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST OBSTACLE? HOW CAN YOU OVERCOME THIS OBSTACLE?

ANY Questions or Concerns, you may always speak with me publicly or privately - MY Goal is for YOU to have a SAFE and WELCOMING PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT.

THIS CLASS IS A SAFE ZONE - THUS:

I WILL HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

NO Bullying, Cyber Bullying, Sexual Harassment of ANY KIND
NO Being UNDER THE INFLUENCE...including the appearance of (IE: Sleeping, visual appearance)
NO DESTRUCTION of classroom property - including tagging, drawing, writing.
NO RECORDING or LIVESTREAMING at ANY TIME
NO INTOLERANCE of other's - religion, gender, sexual orientation, outfit, language, culture, race, or socio-economic, etc.

NO PHONE OR DEVICES

VIEW AND COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING - Classroom Agreement Form

DO: Bring your materials for learning including: Chromebook, pen/pencil, paper and required textbooks or handouts. (MOST assignments will be DIGITIAL ONLY).
DON'T: Bring your phone out (I DO FOLLOW THE SCHOOL CELL PHONE POLICY). Phones and other electronic devices, besides your Chromebook are not allowed in the classroom at any time. Any student using phones or electronic devices including: speaking on, texting on, or recording on will be reported to administration and parent/guardian. All school protocol will be enforced including loss of device and/or removal from the classroom and a failing grade for day(s) absent as a result of student's actions.
DO: Be on time, be in class and ready to participate.
DON'T: Use fowl/inappropriate language, gang activity, bullying/cyber bullying, or any other form of harassment inside our classroom.
DO: Be in your assigned seat, with devices away and ready to participate. Your distractions cause everyone else to FAIL. Seats will be distributed as needed and for PBL/Debate activities.
DON'T: Waste YOUR TIME. I will teach regardless and support those who desire to graduate. If you have no why, you have no purpose.
DO: Follow the principals of P.R.I.D.E. In order to be an excellent student, you must be in the mindset to learn. Grades are based on assignment completion and achievement on. Not completing assignments to fullest ability, all directions, using YOUR OWN WORK and submitting work on time will result in loss of academic points received. "No work, no food." - John Smith
DON'T: Fight or be 'under the influence' inside the classroom. Both of these will result in suspension and/or removal from classroom, as well as a failing grade for day(s) absent as a result of student's actions.
