We walked five minutes to SM San Lazaro. Inside the building, there is decorating of Christmas theme everywhere. After walking inside SM San Lazaro. We came out and saw musicians playing local music. They wore colorful shirts and hats made of feathers. We walked for around five minutes to get Jeepney and turned back to UST.
On Sunday, I and my friends visited the National Museum of the Philippines. We went to the museum by bus and cost fifteen pesos. The International Museum is very beautiful. There are many galleries inside the building and a big hall in the medium of the building that can be seen from the fourth floor. We really enjoyed it, and we walked every gallery.
I went on a tour of the university library.
This library has six floors and is the oldest library in Asia.
When I walked into the old book restoration laboratory, only those who entered this place were officials or those with permission.
we were honored by the university and the education department to attend a seminar held at a senior high school. I am very grateful. Because of participating in this seminar It made me aware of the development of the educational curriculum in the Philippines and heard opinions and questions from many people regarding the change of the new curriculum. They were informed of their concerns about the curriculum and its impact on teaching and students. However, the course is a new course. Therefore, it is normal to be worried or have doubts about the curriculum. But the curriculum that was developed Its objective is to organize teaching and learning to have good results for students.
There was a Filipino language class. For me, Filipino isn't difficult, I just need to memorize the words. The vocabulary includes counting numbers, flavors, greetings, the national food of the Philippines, and tourist attractions. I loved this class because it was enjoyable. After learning, we went to a restaurant on campus to eat Halo-Halo. Halo-Halo is a popular cold dessert, made of crushed ice, evaporated milk, or coconut milk. There are beans, soft yams, and coconuts, and they are very delicious. I love it very much. Malinumnum!
I went to Junior high school with my friends for an observation. We met the principal and the teachers. We had a short talk and then went upstairs to observe. Yusrif and I observed in English class. When we entered the class, the teacher introduced us to the students. Before the study, students prayed and greeted Yusrif and me. Next, started to teach. The method of teaching was great. Because the teacher prepared the lesson and taught for around fifty minutes, and then she divided the class into 5 groups of students. The teacher then presents a question and the group representative must raise their hand and stand up to answer the question. When the answer is correct, everyone in the group gets points. But if the answer is wrong, the next group that raises their hand will get a chance to answer the question. Finally, the teacher had an online quiz for students to check their understanding.
After observation, we came back to the reference room. Ma'am Ailyne and Sir. Louie Dasas brought us Banana Turon or Lumpiang Saging, which is a common street food and one of the most popular snacks in the Philippines. With its caramelized crispy wrapper and filling of soft, sweet banana and langka strips. I love it!
While eating, the teacher asked us about the teaching that we noticed. In my opinion, I thought it was similar to Thailand teaching but I have no longer time to observe. If I had more time, I could tell how difference. The part that I like is she gave the students to work as a team because that made students help other students and do a short quiz because it is the evaluation for the teacher and students to check the teaching and their knowledge after teaching.
We went to Senior High School for an observation in the afternoon. Before going to the class for observation. We tour Senior High School building like the canteen floor and library floor. I really love the library. It is very convenient. There are many small rooms for students to have personal space. They use these rooms to discuss or work with their friends.
After touring the canteen and the library. I and my friend, Yusrif. We went to the room to observe the English class. The teaching was good. The teacher tried to make students respond by using questions. Her teaching emphasizes engaging students in answering questions. And after the lesson ended, we had a little talk to exchange ideas. I thought it was really nice to do that. Because it helped us get more understanding of the way she uses it with her students.
On this day, in the afternoon, I went to the College of Education with my friends. We joined the festival called Buwan Ng Wika. We saw many traditional foods and the show from students at Education High School.
