The teaching method is based on observation, the teaching methods used by the teacher during the lesson are lecture method, discussion method, and students’ activities.
Lecture Method
The lecture Method is a learning process in which the teacher transfers knowledge to the learners by speaking. The teacher explains the content and important elements. Students are responsible for listening and taking notes on the content and main points. And students have the opportunity to ask when they have questions. The explanatory teaching method is quite boring and makes some students sleepy. Therefore, the teacher asks questions to explain the content. This helps stimulate students regularly and tests their understanding.
Discussion Method
Discussion Method is a method that uses group discussion techniques to achieve learning objectives and to stimulate thought, interest, and the securing of student participation. The discussion is that students read the material first and then come to the class and discuss it in class. There are methods as follows.
1. The teacher asks questions about the story that the students read.
2. Students answer questions by raising their hands and the teacher chooses students to answer.
3. The teacher summarizes the questions and students' answers together. Sometimes the teacher gives additional information.
Students’ activities
Students design work through a group learning process. The teacher is responsible for leading students into lessons, stimulating their thinking, and providing guidance by organizing. Participating in group work allows students to express their opinions and abilities. Students can share their ideas and answers with their peers to create effective work.
Learning materials and innovations are very important for learning and teaching. Because learning media and innovation an intermediary that helps communication between teachers and students. They can connect students to better understand the content. They are easy to find and convenient to use. Based on the observation, the teacher used learning materials which included textbooks, PowerPoint presentation, loudspeaker and projector.
